Kathy L. Kero, DVM
Dr. Kathy Kero, a California native, earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Davis, before completing her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Ohio State University in 1993. After graduation, she traded her beloved Buckeyes and Big Ten sports for the SEC, pursuing post-graduate training at Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She then spent eight years in Memphis, TN, gaining extensive experience in both emergency and general practice medicine.
Dr. Kero’s passion for teaching led her to Athens, GA, where she spent nine years as a faculty member at The University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine, mentoring veterinary students in technical and communication skills. In 2011, she returned to emergency and general practice in the Atlanta area, continuing her commitment to compassionate, high-quality care.
Dr. Kero brings her expertise and passion for education to her work at Walton Gwinnett Animal Clinic, where she is committed to providing high-quality veterinary care to the pets and families of Walton and Gwinnett County. Outside the clinic, she enjoys trying new recipes, supporting her twins’ sports teams, and cheering on her oldest daughter at Irish dance competitions. In the fall, you’ll find her spending Saturdays with her spouse and three daughters, rooting for both the Buckeyes and Bulldogs.
Amanda Weir, DVM
Dr. Amanda Weir has been one of our veterinarians for three years, and has actually worked here as a kennel assistant here before vet school. She attended University of Georgia as an undergrad, and graduated in 2010 with a BSA in avian biology. She, then, graduated Ross University School of Veterinary medicine in 2014, and did one year clinical at Auburn University. She has three pets: Nox, Whittles, and Eddie. Nox is a coconut retriever, who came back to states with her from Ross University. Whittles is a yorkie that she rescued at her first veterinarian job. Eddie is a pug, which is one of her favorite breeds. In her free time, she enjoys hiking with her dogs, cooking, and reading!
Justin Chan, DVM
Dr. Justin Chan grew up in Buford, Georgia and has been in the Veterinary Medicine profession since 2017. He first entered the field through the Grayson Tech Veterinary Sciences program where he found his love for the field.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences in 2021 and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2025. His focus in veterinary school was small animal practice with a particular interest in surgery, dentistry, and dermatology.
In his free time, Dr. Chan enjoys hiking, tinkering, traveling, and watching the Dawgs play on Saturdays. He lives in Monroe, Georgia, with his wife Hannah. He has 3 dogs (Milo, Gojo, and Vin), and 2 cats (Olive and Suki) who are all extremely spoiled.
Lianna Osborne, VMD
Dr. Osborne was born and raised in Douglasville, Georgia and earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!) in 2007. She went on to receive her veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 2011 and is certified in veterinary acupuncture.
Some of her favorite areas of veterinary medicine include internal medicine, acupuncture, ultrasound, and integrating alternative therapies in pain control and disease treatment. She has a special love for her geriatric patients as she gets to care for and guide them through their later years of life.
Dr. Osborne lives on a farm in Madison with her husband and their two young sons, who keep her busy outside of work. At the moment, their menagerie includes cats, rabbits, and chickens. She loves spending time outdoors, cooking, baking, and enjoying time with her family and their many animals.
Sherrie Dove, Groomer
Sherrie has been part of the veterinary field for nearly three decades, beginning as a veterinary technician at Walton Gwinnett Animal Clinic in 1995, where she worked alongside Dr. Neal Dickerson. In early 1998, Sherrie expanded into grooming, where she continues to combine technical expertise with a passion for animal care.
When not at the clinic, Sherrie spends her time with her family and a full household of pets, including five dogs, a cat, and six chickens. She and her husband have been married for 28 years and have two children.
