Our Veterinary Team

Amanda Weir, DVM

Dr. Amanda Weir has been one of our veterinarians for three years, and has actually worked here as a kennel assistant here before vet school. She attended University of Georgia as an undergrad, and graduated in 2010 with a BSA in avian biology. She, then, graduated Ross University School of Veterinary medicine in 2014, and did one year clinical at Auburn University. She has three pets: Nox, Whittles, and Eddie. Nox is a coconut retriever, who came back to states with her from Ross University. Whittles is a yorkie that she rescued at her first veterinarian job. Eddie is a pug, which is one of her favorite breeds. In her free time, she enjoys hiking with her dogs, cooking, and reading!

Malorie Franks, DVM

Dr. Franks has been a part of our team since 2013, and grew up in Americus, GA. She's worked with animals her entire life, beginning at her family's farm and later in the veterinary field.

She received her undergraduate degree in Biology from Georgia Southern University, and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine was completed at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. Her special interests include dentistry, oncology, and a special passion for surgery.

She has a love for herding breeds, but especially Border Collies (she owns three-- you can be greeted by one of their portraits in our lobby!).

In her free time, Dr. Franks can be found spending time with her family of three children and Border Collies; reading, drawing, and crafting.
